Extracted from the earth in its natural form, granite offers our clients durability, elegance and affordability as a countertop surface in kitchens and bathrooms. Granite will not burn so you can set pots directly from your stove or oven. It is not a high maintenance product only requiring sealing one time every year to make it stain resistant. Sealing is a simple process of wiping on a liquid sealer, and then wiping it off after it is dry (similar to waxing a car). Contrary to rumor Granite does not harbor bacteria; bacteria do not eat stone. Our 10 in-stock colors are shown below, and can be installed in as little as 5-7 business days. Also known as “Engineered Stone”, this material is a resin based manufactured product designed to imitate the look of natural stone. Each manufacturer has their own color pallet of approximately 35 colors available in both matte and semi-gloss finishes. Quartz does have a stain resistant surface, but because it is a resin based material, a hot pot directly from your oven or stove will affect this material. You should let your pan cool for a few minutes before placing it on your countertop. Engineered stone does not require additional yearly sealing. Pioneered by DuPont 40 years ago, “Corian” was the first solid surface product available for use as a countertop material. Manufactured in sheets, this product is a plastic base that allows a true seamless installation. Available in over 130 colors and patterns, solid surface offers a nonporous option that is durable and easy to clean, so it does not promote the growth of bacteria, mold or mildew. And since the color runs all the way through it, it’s renewable with light sanding. Solid surface does not require sealing. The mixing of non-toxic pigments and various glass colors and sizes results in a very versatile color palette. This product can be used for backsplashes, bathroom vanities, table tops, bar tops, interior walls, and commercial flooring.
